Moving North | Day 204 of my 2023 Journal
The sunshine in the garden, the writing explosion, the driving, the arrival in sisterhood, the laughter. Perfect. Just perfect.
Learn Nothing Day, Compliance and Avoidance | Day 203 of my 2023 Journal
Learn Nothing Day combined with my genuine shock reaction to a new-to-me three-letter diagnosis inspired this text about leaving children be, accepting our parental responsibility of love and support, and shaking off the madness of demands and structure surrounding mainstream family life. Welcome to a rampage about freedom, trust, and real reality.
Wilderness Wood | Day 202 of my 2023 Journal of my 2023 Journal
Martinās family introduced us to Wilderness Wood, a beautiful project close to where they live, where home-educated children take classes in woodwork and pottery, enjoy the forest and each other, where people co-live and share life, where people live and learn and grow.
England, finally | Day 201 of my 2023 Journal of my 2023 Journal
Last year just around this time, we did not make it to England. Paperwork not in order. We had another great summer adventure, and it was all good. But NOW, we want to go to the lands of Shakespeare, Stonehenge, The Beatles, Queen Elisabeth, the Viking invasions, and you go on with the list.
Calais | Day 200 of my 2023 Journal of my 2023 Journal
Moving through the day, we had to get practical things done and place the vehicles at the station for campers, watch a documentary, and go for a walk to look at Calais. We might need to give Calais more time.
The why revisited | Day 199 of my 2023 Journal of my 2023 Journal
I am unsure why I keep writing these small stories about our travels. Some days it seems like an unnecessary chore. Writing every day about what happened and what we thought about seemed like a great idea in the beginning. I thought it would help me keep track of things.
Chilling | Day 198 of my 2023 Journal of my 2023 Journal
All the little things. The little things that are actually big. We did them. All day long and very far into the late evening.
So it goes sometimes. The adventure can be the silence.
So it goes sometimes. The adventure can be the silence.
The Gent Festival | Day 197 of my 2023 Journal
This time we had a plan! No loud music, no big crowds. We went out to see the Gentfest, but the focus was to find street artists, street musicians, some food, and just some hanging out time.
Sailing and hanging out | Day 196 of my 2023 Journal
We have friends everywhere, except where we donāt - so we go there to make new ones. A bit overwhelmed by the ones we already have, and now holding a streak of socializing EVERY DAY since mid-April, we are strong social ones.
A Sick dog, a bit of driving, and a lovely evening | Day 195 of my 2023 Journal
A thing I find beautiful is the people! Marjan is the sister of a friend we have in El Vendrell. Marjan always said: "Just come over if you are ever in Belgium," - Last year we said yes - and it was so fun that we invited ourselves again :)
Rain, bikini-body, and container-obsession | Day 194 of my 2023 Journal
We found a campervan park at a harbor in Holland. It was full of roses and other flowers, someone attended them beautifully, harbors are always beautiful, and on top of all that, there was a special treat: The view to a container facility, where I could obsess over worldwide logistics and the moving systems of vast chunks of stuff.
Bremen | Day 193 of my 2023 Journal
We visited the science museum Universum. It is a good one of its sort, with only one downside - the lack of oxygen! Would they please open a window?!
Moving on | Day 192 of my 2023 Journal
The core of the nomad lifestyle is to move on. Ever so often, when we go somewhere, we feel the time allocated for the place and the people are to restricted: We want to stay for months. We say that over and over: We could stay here for a month! Or two! I wonder when we will learn to trust the process fully.
The social nomad | Day 191 of my 2023 Journal
Our children are not dependent on a social field of: A) lack of trust of adults (because they always have an agenda, and they donāt trust you). B) too many other children you are forced to spend EVERY DAY with for up to NINE hours.
Synchronicity | Day 190 of my 2023 Journal
The connection between our exit and the weather change would be perceived as non-existent and strange to even think about. Yet, Jung described these perceived synchronicities in human life as important and meaningful awareness of the subject towards essential life elements.
Everything matters | Day 189 of my 2023 Journal
What matters the most is we stay alert and awake spiritually; we stay alive and present and ready to enjoy the journey of life. That we can engage in a state of flow and love, trusting what we do and donāt do to be the ārightā choices. āEverything mattersā
Stay in flow | Day 188 of my 2023 Journal
Emotions are a good guidance system. When at peace, all is good; when excited, we are on track to something important, when annoyed, frustrated, or angry, there is something to let go of, either an idea, an ego vibe, or an attachment to some version of reality not currently available.
Halfway done! | Day 187 of my 2023 Journal
Having a clear value system and a clear goal makes it so much easier to āmiss outā on what is happening here and now to achieve a greater goal. There is nothing I recommend higher than getting clear on goals and values. And re-doing it ever so often. What is important? Where are we going? And why?
The adventure is the people | Day 186 of my 2023 Journal
Little did we know, before we left, that co-living would become our style. Initially, it seemed strange to move in with people, but lo and behold - right there was the light.
The zero-day | Day 185 of my 2023 Journal
One of the significant advantages of the nomad lifestyle is scarcity. It keeps us awake. The fact we are not staying long anywhere makes it always urgent to prioritize and do what is the most important always. We can not fool ourselves; we have to do what is on top of the list.
Where are we now?
