Barcelona Street Art - March 2025 in Barcelona
The cover photo on this gallery is not street art as such. It is part of a mural from medieval times sharing the story of how a king won a battle to collect Catalonia as a country. More or less. It is like the Bayeux tapestry: the communication of an epic story creating a country, making sure everyone can take it in.
This kind of painting, sharing what our story is and what our culture is and what is going on on walls for everyone to see, is somehow the early predecessor of what we today call street art. I don't know everything at all, but I am good at enjoying art. It moves me, it changes my perspective, it wakes me up. Street art is such a bold and brave form, throwing it up there in the shared space, creating a comment or a decoration or a critique or a combination for the shared culture, the shared commute, the shared conversation. Vulnerable and free, open for everyone to enjoy or hate, ready for whatever.
We love street art.
Here is what we saw in Barcelona in March 2025. Let me know which one is your favorite and why.

These are seen all over the city, repeated in many different colors and types of locations, sometimes repeated like here, and sometimes solo.
10. LF Pretty Woman Mural
11. Jesus holding a what-card?
This is right by the old cathedral, the Cathedral del Mar, in the old city center. Interestingly.
12. Skull
I dont really like this one, to be honest. But somehow it had something to it, so I did the photograph. And now I am thinking.

36. Girl with Bunny Facemask #3
37. A house and some time
38. Big Brother is Watching you
The book 1984 has had a lasting impact on our culture. Or has it? I wonder if the artist read the book, and if the people in the street did? I also wonder if it matters.
Are we questioning the surveilance, or is it just a dumb protest? Sometimes I am more pessimistic, and doubt it.
39. More from Qwert Art in the midst of the Chaos of announcements, stickers, tags and time. Nicely done.
40. A random collection
a. a pixel rose - I just learned this is a collection game, and did not pay enough attention to start playing it, though I do collect streetart. Random.
b. a tribute to the Zippo - I love it, because it truly IS something special. I like how streetart points at cultural elements, big and small. We can talk about freedom and basic rights, or just give a nod to the zippo. It is all worth our attention in different ways.
c. some masked animal with lolly - It is seen repeatedly around the city. What it is and why, I have no idea. Might be a reference, might "just" be.
e. moviestar? In the down left corner some moviestarlooking sticker is looking directly at us. I dont know who it is, not good with moviestars, it is not my thing. Could be not a moviestar, but there is something about the photo reminding me of 1950s female stars.
41. Quick cockroaches - in the context of the worn paper on the wall it reminds of what is behind the scenes.
42. American (?) lady with gun - we have met this woman before in the gallery. It is a sticker, less bold, and I am not a fan of the style, tyet it has something to it.
43. Face. This is done in simple lines, yet has a lot of expression. Unfortunately someone did a quick "democracia" on top. I do not think the two are related.
.
44. A simple face. Like #43 I am impressed with the simplicity and the tempo. I like this face.
45. Same stensil face as #9 - seen all over, sometimes grouped, sometimes alone.
46. Kneeling woman - I wish I had seen this one before someone put a poster over her face.
48. Normaa art face. Walked by this one every day, when we stayed in Barcelona. There is something about it.

53. Mushroom woman by Btancur.
54. Very strange tounge face
55. Somewhat depressing face I must say but part of the cacaphony
56. The retriever and some masks
The retriever is everywhere and this time I took the photo combined with some strange masks. I can not say i really like it.
57. Zumo guy
58. DbCreative_Collage Sticker art. How I wish it was had not been ruined. It is very interesting.
