Traveling wakes you up
Let me share, how the transit to full time traveling affects and improve our happiness, and what steps we take and have taken to stay happy.
We are all on this journey, everyone of us is traveling – with the planet around the sun, through this life’s’ many scenes and stages, within our spiritual or personal development. Right now, in my personal Time and Place, the rising sun is filtered through the carob tree, I hear the birds singing and my children discussing their books, and I feel grateful we are here.
Can I share with you our inner and outer travels?
We are still learning to live in a bus, and to be travellers. It is amazingly interesting, and maybe it is the change of country and housing, that makes us wake up? We feel an explosion of learning and of progress, we think so many thoughts and get so many insights. It is like a mental shower. In a waterfall, it is refreshing, confronting, eyeopening, amazing. It takes the whole thing to another level.
Yet – the choice to be happy is still a choice. Can be done from anywhere.
It is all in the mind
It all starts with vibration. The aligning with what we truly are, with what we truly hold to be sacred and with the input we clearly get – makes us so strong and so clear, and we walk with faith and gratitude. I don’t really know how to explain this, I know it can sound a bit fluffy. But in all details of life, this is a cornerstone. To align and to listen.
It takes deliberate focus. And inner work. To know who you are. Meditations can get you very far, but also the work done, focusing on values and finding the personal truth. We are not all alike, and we need to claim our personal truth, in order to find what is truly important and truly sacred to us. Only then will we benefit fully from the alignment with our inner being.
To know what is important and what is not, to know who we are and to dare do, what we know is the right thing to do, maybe even dare trusting the Divine energy, I call God – it all takes courage and focus.
But first and foremost, it is a choice. If we choose to be happy, we also commit to do this inner work, and we get a clear path in front of us. This choice, we made many years ago, and re-committed to it several times. This is why, we can be happy every day, anywhere.
Is it complicated. Maybe, in the end, not so much.
When I was a child, the local supermarket chain called Irma had stickers, heart shaped and positive and of high quality, the kind you can put on a backpack or shoe. One said: “Smile to the world, and the world will smile back”. It might be that easy. It is that easy.
The balancing act
Yet, it is complicated. It is like walking on a rooftop. We need to keep balancing, keep feeling, staying in the present moment.
This week we said goodbye to visiting friends, and just as we are happy and grateful for their visit, we are happy and grateful to be able to get back to a slower kind of living and a more silently focused miracle life.
This is one of the major traps, we got out of – keep getting out of. The idea, the grass might be greener on the other side of the river, the regrets, the fear, basically, that something else might be right. These are normal thoughts and feelings, the difference, is we are very aware of them, and we chose to work with them, if they ever present themselves.
What to do to stay happy, step one
With a humble smile, I shall present to you a starting point. I talk to many people and I see and hear much suffering and frustration. To be a happy person is not a normal choice, and it takes deliberate focus, and it also takes the courage to be happy even though people around you chose not to be.
To get started you need to accept, that this is a choice. That your happiness is not a result of the state of the outer world, but a result of your inner world. This is a very confronting truth. Yet it is true. Everything and everyone around you do not need to be in perfect harmony for you personally to stay happy. If you chose your happiness, though, you can completely change the way the world around you spins, and you can change the lives of people around you.
But first, you have to accept: It is all in the mind.
To do the inner work is different for everyone. I recommend starting slowly and with love. Make sure, you really want this, and begin in one end. With gratefulness and with your personal truth and values. I, personally, can help, as I am a psychologist and transformational katalyst. Feel free to book a time, this is my expertise. But – please – feel just as free to find your own way. Begin with values, and with gratefulness, those are corner stones. And with the deliberate “I chose to be happy” as a daily mantra.
